Education
Elementary education major with a concentration in special education. I also have Missouri certification for early childhood. I received my degree at Concordia University, NE. I also took 4 years of Spanish in high school and continued with 2 1/2 more years of Spanish education in college.
Experience
I taught as a resource teacher for 3 years after college, working with students from K-8 as well as writing and implementing IEPs. I then taught for 4 years as a kindergarten teacher until I chose to stay home when my daughter was born. I love teaching and miss working with students. I feel tutoring will be an excellent way to continue teaching while staying home with my daughter as well. While I was teaching I also tutored some of my students in reading after school. I have many resources as well as connections with teachers still working should a need for a new resource arise while tutoring.

Hobbies
Some of my strengths are my patience and calm/quiet demeanor. I do not make students nervous about their work, I feel it's very important to raise their confidence while teaching and helping with the skills they are working on. I really enjoy music and I love doing crafts at home with my daughter. As a family, we love to be outside playing in the yard or at the park.
